  • Yes, getting around is simple with options like tuk-tuks, scooter rentals, or private drivers for day trips. You can explore the area at your own pace without needing a car.

  • Yes, we can help arrange a scooter rental if you request it in advance.

    The typical cost is around Rs.1500 per day, which is approximately $5 USD (rates may vary slightly with exchange rates).

    Please note: Riding a scooter is at your own risk, and all riders must have a valid driver’s license. Helmets are provided, and we strongly encourage safe driving at all times.

  • Most places accept cash in Sri Lankan Rupees, while larger hotels, restaurants, and shops usually take credit or debit cards. It’s a good idea to carry some cash for markets, tuk-tuks, and smaller local vendors.

  • Yes, there are several ATMs nearby. The closest is in Dickwella, just a 1-minute drive or a 5-minute walk away. In Hiriketiya, a few ATMs are available, about a 4-minute drive or a 15-minute walk from the property.

  • Yes, during the peak season, both Pehembiya and Hiriketiya are very calm and are safe for swimming.

    During the off-season, however, Pehembiya is not recommended for swimming due to stronger currents, but nearby Hiriketiya Beach remains safe.

  • Hiriketiya Beach is perfect for surfing, offering a sandy beach break suitable for beginners as well as a left-hand reef break for more experienced surfers

    For snorkeling and scuba diving, Nilwella, just a short 10-15 minute drive away, is the best spot between November and May, offering vibrant coral reefs and marine life.

  • Turtles are often spotted in Hiriketiya Bay, especially at sunset near the left point where a local villager sometimes feeds them — you can watch from the shore.

    For more turtle sightings, Turtle Beach in Batigama is just a 10 minute drive away. They’re easiest to see when the water is calm.

  • No, we don’t provide breakfast with the rooms.

    However, there’s a café downstairs serving specialty coffee and plenty of breakfast options. You’ll also find several cafés along Pehembiya Road on the way to Hiriketiya, as well as many more in Hiriketiya itself.
